Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead our Korea accounting operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with local accounting standards (K-GAAP), tax regulations, and US GAAP/IFRS (as applicable), while supporting internal and external reporting requirements. This role plays a key part in supporting the financial integrity and operational efficiency of our Korea business.

Key Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for accounting operations including GL, AR, AP, and fixed assets
• Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing
• Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with K-GAAP and group policies (e.g., US GAAP or IFRS)
• Ensure smooth month-end closing under IFRS & group reporting procedures to provide accurate numbers in financial statement and group consolidation report.
• Supervise all operations handled by GBS and bring successful cooperation.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies
• Oversee local tax filings (VAT, corporate tax, withholding tax, etc.)
• Lead YE tax adjustment for CIT filing, in proactive cooperation with Deloitte
• Ensure internal controls and compliance with corporate policies and SOX (if applicable)
• Manage and mentor junior accountants, if applicable
• Liaise with headquarters and regional finance teams for reporting and ad-hoc analysis

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA/AICPA preferred)
• Minimum 7-10 years of relevant accounting experience, including Leadership experience
• Solid knowledge of Korean GAAP and taxation; US GAAP/IFRS knowledge preferred
• Prior experience in the medical device, pharmaceutical, or healthcare industry a plus
• Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and MS Office, and other equivalent tools used in Fresenius
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Fluent in Korean; proficiency in English (written and verbal) required
• Team-oriented mindset with strong communication and leadership skills
• Experience in SOX compliance and working with shared service centers
• Hands-on and detail-oriented with a strategic mindset
• Flexible mindset to handle new types of transactions
